It is not a government body, embassy, immigration authority, insurer, bank, law firm or regulated adviser, and a link to an organisation does not imply its endorsement. Editorial principles
- Use plain English and define unfamiliar terms.
- Separate general orientation from professional advice.
- Show when content was reviewed and flag rules that can change.
- Prefer official and primary sources for legal and procedural claims.
- Make commercial relationships visible rather than blending them into editorial content.
How sources and review dates work
For regulatory and procedural statements, we link to the responsible government authority, regulator, statutory material or other primary issuer wherever a suitable public source is available. Insurance-provider descriptions link to the provider’s own current product material and are presented as a market directory, not independent proof that a product is suitable.
A “reviewed” or “fact-checked” date records when the cited pages and the wording on Emigrated.org were compared. It does not mean a rule remains unchanged after that date. Source pages can be amended, moved, translated differently or applied according to individual facts; the current official notice, legislation, authority decision and final contract wording take precedence.
Source hierarchy
- Legislation, official notices, government departments and regulators.
- Embassies, consulates and official application portals for route-specific procedures.
- Regulated associations and the legal insurer or provider for product wording.
- Reputable secondary explanation only where a primary source is unavailable or needs context.
Where official sources conflict, the guide should say so rather than select the more convenient answer. Users should confirm requirements with the authority handling their particular application.
Corrections
Cross-border information can change quickly. If you find an outdated rule, unclear explanation, source conflict or broken link, send the page address, the statement concerned and the replacement official source to hello@emigrated.org. Material corrections should update both the text and its review date.
