Moreta Pay
Thailand review.

Thailand service restricted

Not currently a general Thailand recommendation. Moreta's help centre says Thai QR payments have been paused since 29 June 2026, except business QR payments for customers verified with a US or Canadian passport.

Who it suits

Only the narrow group currently confirmed by Moreta, and only after checking the live service notice immediately before funding.

Eligibility

Moreta markets passport-based onboarding and international funding. Current Thailand availability, however, depends on passport nationality and QR type.

Safer setup sequence

Start small and verify the route.

  1. 01

Read the current Thailand service notice before registering.

  2. 02

Confirm that your verified passport nationality is eligible.

  3. 03

Do not fund the wallet for Thailand unless the app confirms Thai QR access.

  4. 04

Test only a low-value business merchant QR.

01

Funding

Moreta publishes bank-transfer and card funding methods for supported users and currencies. Funding availability does not prove that Thai QR payments are available.

02

Payments

As of the review date, Moreta says US and Canadian passport holders can use business Thai QR codes. Personal Thai QR is not supported, and Thailand payments are paused for other users.

03

Limits and fees

The current help article is more important than generic marketing or historic limit claims. It publishes a 1.5 per cent business-QR fee for the eligible exception and a fee-free withdrawal route during the pause.

Strengths

International onboarding and funding concept

Clear current service-status notice

Fee-free withdrawal process during the pause

Cautions

! Thailand payments paused for most users

! Personal Thai QR unsupported

! Marketing pages can appear broader than the current operational notice

! Do not pre-fund based on old reviews

Use during arrival

Where it fits in the move

Most new arrivals should choose another route today. Anyone eligible for the exception should still carry cash and a card because a personal QR at a landlord, market stall or small seller will not work.
