Independent suitability review

TAGTHAi Easy Pay
Thailand review.

Strong visitor option

A tourist-focused Thai QR wallet with passport onboarding. It is particularly relevant when a visitor wants a formal KBank-supported route rather than a general-purpose Thai resident wallet.

Who it suits

Foreign tourists aged 20 or over who want Thai QR payments during a short trip or initial arrival period.

Eligibility

TAGTHAi describes Easy Pay as a non-Thai tourist product and lists a passport requirement. Its August 2026 update says the physical prepaid-card requirement has been removed, but some published instructions still describe in-person KBank FX-booth activation, so check the live app flow before travelling to a booth.

Safer setup sequence

Start small and verify the route.

  1. 01

Install the official TAGTHAi app and open Easy Pay.

  2. 02

Check whether the current version offers fully digital onboarding or directs you to a KBank foreign-exchange booth.

  3. 03

Complete passport verification and review the stated funding currency and exchange rate.

  4. 04

Make a low-value QR purchase before adding more money.

01

Funding

Published guidance describes foreign-currency top-up through KBank foreign-exchange booths. The updated cardless model may change the precise funding sequence, so the current app and KBank instructions should control.

02

Payments

TAGTHAi says Easy Pay can scan Thai QR or PromptPay for goods and services across Thailand. Earlier material also describes Visa acceptance attached to the PAY&TOUR arrangement.

03

Limits and fees

The published guide lists THB 25,000 per transaction and THB 50,000 per month, with withdrawal and refund rules. Confirm these figures in the current terms because the August 2026 redesign may alter the product mechanics.

! Exchange and refund terms require careful checking

Use during arrival

Where it fits in the move

It can cover everyday QR purchases while you compare neighbourhoods and arrange banking. Keep the KBank receipt and refund conditions, and avoid leaving a large balance near departure or account migration.
