Advertised coverage
LocalPay says it is live in Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. Its own Vietnam page specifically identifies VietQR. Its public documentation does not name the Indonesian and Philippine QR variants or promise that every merchant QR will work.
01How it works
Create a self custody wallet and fund it with supported stablecoins. The app listings describe USDC and USDT on Solana; a LocalPay company page says foreign tourists can pay existing Vietnamese VietQR codes. Complete any KYC required for payment features before depending on the wallet.
02Cost to check
LocalPay publishes no fixed all-in QR tariff on its website. Its terms say app fees are disclosed before a transaction and that third-party, off-ramp and blockchain fees may also apply. Compare the final crypto debit and local recipient amount with a card or another wallet, especially for small purchases.
03Important limit
The homepage's 'no hidden fees' phrase does not mean zero cost. Payment features depend on third parties and eligibility; the terms exclude sanctioned jurisdictions and require users to be at least 18. Recovery of a lost self custody wallet is the user's responsibility. Public documentation does not establish reliable card funding.
Before you rely on it
Check the live route
Check KYC and country access, fund only a small amount on the listed Solana asset, then test the exact QR and review the all-in rate before adding more funds.
